<rant>I hate these bastards. I hope this tactic backfires on them big time. If they weren't such greedy bastards people wouldn't be driven to sharing music. Like I want to pay $20 for a cd when only about 1/2 the songs are worth a crap. Screw em all and screw their MTV cribs.</rant>

I'm no Lester Bangs

One of the fellas that I work with out here has a whole crapload of music shared out on his computer that I listen to from time to time. While trolling through album after album I came upon the Posies Dear23 album. I hadn't heard it in ages and ages. I know I have a copy of the album somewhere amongst all my tapes (which are spread all over the house) which I actually got when I went to their record release party and the New Melody tavern in ballard. Damn fine album and if you don't have it I would put it on your 'fleshing out my catalogue' list of purchases.

Anyway, I'm going to put my headphones on and listen to it front to back again.

This is a panorama of the Center for Wooden Boats located on Lake Union. The panorama is just so-so...

...the file is pretty big. They get that way when you take them outside.

I'm going to try a few more, but next time on a tripod. This one was taked by holding the camera at belt level and turning around incrementaly.

Like I said, it's just so-so.

Click and hold the mouse in the window and drag horizontally.

I give up...

That's it. I admit defeat. I can not for the life of me get Image-Magick or netPBM to work with my Movabletype(MT) install. I have banged away at it till 2:00 am (with little Rise of Nations breaks ;-) ) for over a week and have hit dead ends at every turn.

Image-Magick and netPBM are both Perl modules that will allow a MT user to upload a picture do a little bit of image manipulation and create a thumbnail. I guess all my fellow bloggers will have to be satisfied with just plain ol pictures.

Sailing

Melinda and I started our sailing lessons today at the Center for Wooden Boats at the south end of Lake Union. Today was primarily classroom stuff (shore class) with a group sail afterwards. There wasn't much wind but it sure was fun. I'm going to bring my camera tomorrow and snap a few pics to show what the CWB looks like and how pretty it is out on the lake.

When will I get to write...

About 5 posts ago, (2 builds ago) I said that I was almost done with getting the site installed and configured and that I could start writing soon.

I was wrong...

Updated the MoveableType install to build 2.64 and I'm still hot on the tracks of getting ImageMagick installed so all the bloggers hosted on my server can start using the thumbnail abilites of MT.

Ain't no thing tho, the pursuit is have the fun.

My new favorite place to eat.

Here is something kinda cool...

Coulda, shoulda, didn't

Today I was still pretty groggy by the time I got to work. Some days, if I have the time, I just sit in my car for a little while listening to the radio before I go into work. It makes it hard to get out of the car and go sit infront of a computer for the whole day. It's curious that I enjoy working with computers so much considering I really don't like sitting at a desk all day...

...anyway.

As I sat there thoughts ran through my mind about blowing off work for the day, walking around enjoying a rainy spring day and maybe taking a matinee.

I didn't.

I wish I had.

Times like these I really miss being a bartender, or should I say I miss bartender hours.

Almost there...

Almost to the point of actually designing the site. Not too many bugs to work out, mostly just my ignorance of how all this fits together. MovableType get's 2 thumbs up so far.
