Melinda and I had a great day hanging out and then went out to dinner at Le Pichet. Very nice little French bistro style restaurant downtown, it's the only place around that I have been to that I can get Pernod. I'm sure I could get it at another French place but you know what I mean.
After that we went to the Queen City Grill. Not much to say about that place other than it was full of stuffy people getting their 'downtown' on. Pretty innocuous and unremarkable but the drinks were ok.
Which reminds me, my new favorite drink is Absolute Mandarin and tonic w/a lime. Damn fine drink if I do say so myself.
After the Queen City Grill we went to a new place on Capitol Hill called Chapel. It was kinda cool if not a bit trendy for my tastes, but it's nice to treat the ol lady to a night out on the town by going someplace she actually likes! (Actually she bought me dinner, isn't that nice!) A friend said that it was pretty lame the night that he went, that there was a line to get into the place. That I prolly wouldn't stand for, not big on lines especially to spend my money. But for the most part it was pretty cool and I would go back again.
Let's see... what else... nuttin. I guess I just want this freaking quarter to be over. I've had it with Classification and Information Systems overview classes. Never been a big fan of overview classes, I would much rather go into a greater depth of investigation on topics than those sorts of classes generally allow.
Gotta go play poker. I love poker. I hope I win the lottery tonight so I can quit everything and be a pro poker player. "Really?" you ask, yes really. In a heartbeat.

Well we know you can't get Pernod (or Pastiche) at the Monte Carlo.
Dave why does it sound like the only path to be a poker pro is to start out with a pile of cash? Makes it sound like it will just be a losing proposition.
