I've been sending this link out to friends from time to time so it makes sense that I post it here.
Things should be slowing down soon enough. I've been spending weekends and most nights after work doing stuff on the house (demo, wiring, insulation) and cleaning up after subs. I swear it feels most of my time has been cleaning up after each of the trades that come in. Floors are getting done this week and I move in on Sunday. For the past month and a half I have been living two lives at the two houses, so it will be nice to finally have all my stuff in one place.
After I move in I'll still have to paint and finish the trim. I had thought I gave myself enough time to get everything done before I move in, but apparently schedules are a little "looser" in the construction industry than they are in the internet industry. Whatever. It's only paint.
More pix when I get around to it.

Oh my gosh Dave! It looks absolutely daunting! I'm very very impressed with what you have accomplished and what you are doing. But it really discourages me. I have been toying with the idea of just building a new home altogether and I think your photos scared me enough to decide for sure that was the thing to do. A net-zero energy home. That's my goal.
Sorry we live so far apart. I'm very good at cutting in and trim. And I'm cheap. Cheap labor that is. I'll do just about anything for sushi.
When I sold my home to move up here I hired a guy from LaborReady temp agency to help me paint. It worked out great and we finished up in a day. I think it ended up costing me less than $100 (I did tip big to make up for his paultry pay).
Anyway, just an idea.
