Well I've been in the house 2 months now I guess it still doesn't quite feel like I own the place. Not to sure what I need to do to make it feel more that way. It appears that I'm too lazy to finish painting the trim which is holding up the rest of the progress. For whatever reason when the weekend rolls around I seem to want to do anything but break out the painting gear. So... I have yet to fill the bookshelves w/books because I know I'll have to move the shelves to finish painting, thus my office is still full of cardboard boxes.
Whatever.
When I think back over the last 7 months quite a bit has happened. New house, new job, new car. If I could just get some new habits things would be moving along nicely.

you can come paint my house instead
Buy a bunch of pizzas and beer and invite a few friends over for a painting party. But have them paint before they drink all the beer.
No, seriously, ask some friends. It will force you to suck it up and just get it done. With 3 or 4 hands it isn't much work at all. You will finish before you even know it.
And it will start feeling like home with time. A few more mortgage payments and you'll feel that ownership. It took a while before my first home felt like mine. Mainly it was because it smelled like the previous owner for a really long time after I moved in.
