Well, I've been lax on updating the ol blog. Not that I haven't had things going on that were blog worthy, just been lazy about updating the blog.

If you want to keep up with my random musing (and just see a bunch of dumb shit) these days you can check me out at: http://optica8.tumblr.com. This is my site yo, so I'm not going anywhere bub, so don't you even give me that evil eye. Hmmm...

Why another blog account? I dunno. I guess just to do something different and Tumblr has a pretty cool iPhone app. Anyway, that's that and that's all I have to say about that.

It has been a tough year for Seattle sports. I always like going to Mariner's games, but don't go enough. Winning or losing, going to the baseball park is rad. I've never been to a Husky game or a Seahawks game, but would like to at some point.

I don't even want to talk about the Sonics.

I recently updated my Movable Type install 4.x and like the new features, but am not super enthused with the selections of styles and templates. So I'll g'head and add that to the list of things I want to do but will probably never get around to doing.

I promised myself that I would be better about maintaining my blog, but then again I've been saying that since 2003 when I had my first iteration. Hmmm... let's see... well, I finally anted up for paid hosting. I was starting to get concerned that my own server was going to poop out and I'd lose everything (no big loss, but still). I've been using what was my old desktop computer (with a few new parts here and there) from MountainZone.com days. Um, I left that place in 2001. I think it's a freakin' miracle that computer lasted as long as it did, considering it was on 24/7 for so many years. Anyway, I wound up using A2Hosting.com, which so far has been pretty sweet. I got 250gigs of storage and transfer a month, which I'm sure I'll never get close to touching, and some very nice web utilites to upload and manage the several sites I'm hosting.

Hmmmm.... what else.

Well, I've been enjoying the summer so far. I bought a pretty sweet bike a few weeks back and have been taking it for rides along Alki beach. I finally realized that while I like riding a bike, I'm not a big fan of riding in the city nor am I much of a hill climber. So, I caved and bought an old school beach cruiser. No gears, big cushy seat and a kick brake, just like I had for my paper route when I was a kid growing up in Arizona.
